Yes. Our Baby Bugs infant program welcomes babies beginning at 6 weeks old. We understand that starting childcare with a young baby is a big decision, so we focus on creating a safe, nurturing environment while following each baby's individual routine.

Infant days are built around each baby's needs rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule. Feeding, sleeping, diapering, play, movement, and age-appropriate activities are all part of the day. As babies grow, their activities and routines change with them.

Although Pennsylvania's state ratio allows 8 babies and 2 teachers in an infant room (and 10 toddlers with 2 teachers in a toddler room), we prefer to keep our group sizes small. We limit our infant room to 6 babies and our toddler room to 8 toddlers.A smaller group allows our teachers to give the babies and toddlers the individual attention and care that they need throughout the day

Babies don't all eat, sleep, or play on the same schedule—and we don't expect them to. Our teachers work with families to understand each baby's routine and provide care that is appropriate for that child. As babies grow and their schedules change, we adjust with them and as they approach their transition to Toddlers, we work on getting them onto the Toddler sleeping and eating schedule.

Transitions are handled gradually and with the individual child in mind. Because our programs are all part of Stages Academy, children can grow with familiar teachers, routines, and surroundings as they move from infants to toddlers and eventually into preschool.Even at our infant stage, our children are introduced to the faces that they will see as they grow into toddlers and beyond. Once they are toddlers, our arts teachers come into the toddler room every day to teach them Art, Drama, Movement, and Music. That way, the transition to the preschool program when they turn 2 is seamless and painless for them.

Yes. Our Performing Arts Preschool gives children a full preschool experience while offering the hours working families need. Stages students participate in preschool academics, dance, music, art, drama, library, technology/engineering, outdoor play, and hands-on activities every single day.

We focus on the skills children need to be successful in kindergarten—not just academics, but also independence, problem solving, following directions, communicating with others, managing emotions, and participating in a classroom environment. Children have opportunities to practice early literacy, math, science, and other academic skills through hands-on activities throughout the day. Daily classes in dance, music, art, and drama help our students to develop not just their academic skill but also the confidence, teamwork, and grit that really shine as they move forward to elementary school.

Our Performing Arts Preschool is designed for children ages 2 through PreK. The preschool program encompasses Young Preschool (age 2-3), Preschool (age 3-4), PreK (ages 4-5); and Transitional Kindergarten (Ages 5-6).Children join us at different points during their preschool years, depending on available space.

No. We welcome preschoolers who are actively working on potty training (wearing Pull-Ups) or children who are already potty trained from age 2 to age 5. We work with families to potty train and we allow children to potty train at their own pace. We, of course, do not require our infants or toddlers to be working on potty training quite yet.

Families can choose from 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week, depending on availability. There are no required set days for any given schedule. A 3-day schedule could be Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; or even Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. This gives families more flexibility than a traditional five-day preschool schedule.

Stages Academy is a performing arts preschool and early childhood program that combines academics with daily dance, music, art, and drama. Children get the structure and learning you would expect from a preschool, along with the full-day hours and flexible scheduling so many working families need. Our goal at Stages is to help children build confidence, problem-solving skills, emotional awareness, and a genuine love of learning and the arts.

Absolutely. We accept subsidies from the the Early Learning Resource Center in Pennsylvania including Child Care Works for families who qualify. Families are responsible for their weekly copay (as determined by ELRC), but we do not add on any additional weekly fees on top of the mandated copay.If you are in NJ or have another subsidy program, please contact your preferred school location and we can discuss how we can work with you.

Yes. Dance, music, art, and drama are part of the regular school day at Stages Academy—not occasional extras or separate after-school activities. Our students have daily opportunities to create, move, perform, and explore the arts alongside their preschool academics.

Yes. Stages Academy is licensed by the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and participates in Pennsylvania's Keystone STARS quality rating program.

Stages Academy is an activity-based preschool program. Although our children have lots of fun, they are engaged and interacting with different teachers all day long. Whether it’s ballet with our Dance teacher, planting a garden, observing nature with our Science teacher, or piano lessons with our Music teacher, your child is active and stimulated throughout the day.Dance, music, art, and drama aren't occasional extras—they are part of the regular preschool experience.​See a Sample Preschool Schedule **We have potty breaks every 35 minutes or so throughout the day. Although all students at Stages Academy do not need to be potty trained, any that haven’t quite mastered the potty when they start school will master it much more quickly if they become used to going to the toilet on a consistent schedule as long as parents are consistent at home. Also, even for children who are potty trained, the frequent bathroom trips help cut down on accidents and improves children’s confidence in feeling “potty trained”.
