Art Teacher - Full Time

Stages Academy, a performing arts preschool and after-school program, is looking for a Lead Art teacher for our Levittown location!

 

We are a school based on the Reggio Emilia approach to education and provide a program that challenges a child's whole brain by putting academics and the arts on an even playing field. We are looking to hire a full-time teacher to lead drama classes for students aged 2 to 5 years old.

 

Contrary to typical Preschool/Pre-K programs, our school offers a full academic curriculum as well as a full arts curriculum. Students attend classes on a rotational basis, giving them the opportunity to learn from multiple teachers, across multiple disciplines throughout the day. Our teachers work with students ages 2-5 in their areas of expertise.

Our Art teacher is responsible for teaching students about the works and styles of famous artists and teaching those styles to the children in an age-appropriate manner. The Art teacher is also responsible for compiling works of art for each student to display in our annual art show as well as creating artwork and props for our bi-annual recitals.

Candidates should:

• have a fine arts degree OR early childhood degree OR relevant experience,

• have experience teaching and supervising young children,

• have experience writing and implementing weekly lesson plans,

• be friendly, detail-oriented, creative, and a team player.

 

We pay a minimum of $13/hour (based on your level of education) with 4 opportunities throughout the first year to earn an additional $4.50 per hour! Raise your pay an additional $1 per hour as early as your first day! Benefits package available to full-time employees.
