Preschool Drama Teacher - Full Time

Stages Academy, a performing arts preschool and after-school program, is looking for a Lead Drama teacher for our Levittown location!

 

We are a school based on the Reggio Emilia approach to education and provide a program that challenges a child's whole brain by putting academics and the arts on an even playing field. We are looking to hire a full-time teacher to lead drama classes for students aged 2 to 5 years old.

 

Contrary to typical Preschool/Pre-K programs, our school offers a full academic curriculum as well as a full arts curriculum. Students attend classes on a rotational basis, giving them the opportunity to learn from multiple teachers, across multiple disciplines throughout the day. Our teachers work with students ages 2-5 in their areas of expertise.

Our Drama teachers provide instruction on basic acting techniques, development of emotions and stage presence, character development, and more, as well as develop performance pieces for our students' semi-annual recitals.

Candidates should:

• have a degree in theater OR relevant field and experience,

• have experience teaching and supervising young children,

• have experience writing and implementing weekly lesson plans,

• be friendly, detail-oriented, creative, and a team player.

 

We pay a minimum of $13/hour (based on your level of education) with 4 opportunities throughout the first year to earn an additional $4.50 per hour! Raise your pay an additional $1 per hour as early as your first day! Benefits package available to full-time employees.
